What do you think about this? Are all these uprisings a sign that Muslims are ready for self-determination and will finally enter the world stage, or is this just an opportunity for the next round of corrupt politicians and dictators to grab power?

why would you mention the stubborn idea of middle-east as Muslims.. i know , more than 95% people living there are muslims but that does not justify , referring them Muslims sect. at first they are normal people torn under the pressure of orthodox rulers. people living their are as much part of the worldly democratic rights as anyone here in india, except that they still have to fight for their independence from this stubborn, and pitiful ruling practices.
Now as per ur question, this debate is never ending, because it encourages us to predict the very future of these emirates, whose very citizens(not to mention who are zealously fighting for freedom) are at world-ends currently.
as , if we look into our past, our freedom struggle and the current scenario, India is a highly corrupt state.
so, this brings the encouragement of doubting the motives/future scenario of middle-east,
but , actually, we should gather the facts and observe and then analyze.

I would view this is "Jasmine Revolution" as the peoples' want for democracy and their stubborn for against the oppression.
