Microsoft Corporate Challenge 2006

Thirty-five corporate teams from across-the-country have reportedly gathered for the start of the Microsoft Corporate Challenge 2006 in Kochi. The Challenge, which is conceptualized, managed, and produced by Sports Media Limited and DNA Networks, is the first and the largest of its kind in India.

The Microsoft Corporate Challenge is based on a hugely successful international format, with a simple underlying aim - to help build a great business team.

The five-stage Microsoft Corporate Challenge will be held at F.A.C.T. (Fertilizers And Chemicals Travancore), and the beautiful adjoining backwaters. Participants can expect the Challenge to be filled with a series of mental and physical activities, including running, rowing, cycling, cracking codes, problem solving, light engineering, and so on - all designed to test their fitness levels and strategic skills.

The Microsoft Corporate Challenge is reportedly one of the biggest corporate events to be held in the country. The first edition of the Microsoft Corporate Challenge was held in Goa in 2005, and ICICI Bank emerged the winner, with JM Morgan Stanley bagging second place.

The Microsoft Corporate Challenge supports Pratham, an organization that has been working with State Governments for over a decade to help ensure that children have access to quality education. As was the case last year, this year too, Pratham is putting together a report, the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) to evaluate how much has been achieved in the field of primary education.

Each team at the Microsoft Corporate Challenge 2006 will nominate one of its members as a Pratham Education Ambassador, who will work in a team with other such ambassadors, and help Pratham in furthering its objectives.
