Mudra Institute of Communication Ahmedabad (MICA) students sweep awards at the Ahmedabad Film Project 2012 (AFP). The film ‘Shift Focus’ by MICA team ‘Pehla Micalal’ won 3 out of 7 awards at AFP including ‘Gold film of the year’, ‘Finest use of theme’ and ‘Superlative music score.
Another MICA student, Ashish Shah (M: 9687688460, [email protected]) wrote the script and dialogues for the film ‘Closure’ That won the silver prize at AFP-12.
There were 1487 participants in the competition which required teams to make their own film within 48 hours. The participants included 79 teams from Gujarat and 41 from other states including a team from Dubai. A total of 120 films were made during the event out of which 76 films made it to the competition round. The event was opened Shoojit Sircar, Director of the film Vicky Donor. The films made during the event were judged by Rajesh Mapuskar, Director of Ferrari Ki Sawaari; Komal Nahta, Film Reviewer and Vikramaditya Motwane, Director of Udaan
The film ‘Shift Focus’ is about a bubbly photographer girl who meets a stranger who did not have any expression on his face. The photographer took to it upon herself to make him smile for a shot.
