The event is basically a quiz comprising five rounds. Participants may form a team of two (comprising of students from the same college) if they wish to compete
Stage 1:
This is the preliminary round conducted online for choosing the best 5 teams that will be invited to SIMSR to participate in the second and final stages of the quiz to be conducted on-campus
Stage 2:
The selected teams should be present on-campus to participate in Stage 2. It comprises of 3 rounds of varied nature each as briefed below.
Key points:
Each round in stage 2 will have questions from different areas of financial domain.
Each round will have proportional negative marking for wrong answers
At the end of each round the team with the least score would be eliminated to proceed to the subsequent round.
Round 1: This will be conducted in a “round-robin” fashion. A set of 20 questions on general finance related areas would be asked to the 5 teams in a circular fashion.
Round 2: This will be a “buzzer” round. A question would be put-forth and whichever team presses the buzzer first will be given the chance to answer.
Round 3: This will be a “Grid-based round”. Each team would be shown a separate 3*3 grid overlapping a personality related to the domain. The teams would be given the choice of choosing the grid of their wish. For every grid chosen, a question has to be answered. A correct answer would open the chosen grid-box and a wrong answer would leave it un-open. An open grid-box will reveal a portion of the personality hidden beneath it. At any point in time, the team can choose to make a guess at identifying the personality. But only one guess will be allowed. Depending upon the correct answers that each team provides, they will be suitably rewarded.
Round 4: The event boils down to two teams for the final round which will be a “Rapid fire” round. Each team will be asked a set of questions with relatively much lesser time to think.
RULES AND REGULATION:
Each team can have a maximum of 2 participants.
All the members of a team should belong to the same college.
Any number of teams can apply from a college.
One person can belong to only one team.
5 teams will be selected for Round 2 to be held on campus.
Details of Round 2 will be provided after declaration of Round 1 results

Deadline for registration: 9th February, 2012, 18:00 hrs.
Online Quiz Event: 9th February, 2012, 22:30 hrs.
