This is a kind of tradition that they follow for the festival hitting with sticks on the heads of one another. What can be done to stop this type of meaningless traditions?
 
Such practises can not account for tradition, these may be termed as social sins like sati pratha and polygamy.
Same kind of punishments should be authorised for practising any tradition which in any way harms human beings
 
I heard about traditions like 'Bull fight'. Its completely meaningless to get a bull fight with another bulls until one of them gets seriously injured or sometimes even dead. How or what fun do people get in inflicting to pain to our innocent and speechless animals?
