MBA VS PGDM: What is the difference between these two?

Hi friends,

Institutes like IIMs r offering PGDM and there are many institutes claiming their PGDM equivalent to IIMs

and then there are colleges offering MBA University recognized... but then which is better for a student.

What are your views?
 
PGDM is a diploma course i.e Post Graduate Diploma in Management granted by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) recognized institutions and it is not exactly a degree. MBA is a Master of Business Administration which is a degree and it is a two year program offered by universities or colleges.
