Marshall's location on the Pacific Rim, its proximity to the major business and financial centers of Los Angeles and its strong alumni network offer additional opportunities for intellectual exchange and practical experience.
Entry Requirements

The Marshall MBA programs are highly selective, and each candidate is assessed on a number of dimensions. The Admissions Committee carefully reviews each application, weighing prior academic, professional, intellectual, and personal achievements. We seek students with outstanding leadership potential as well as those with the intellectual and interpersonal abilities to contribute to our academic and extracurricular programs.
Financial Aid

Due to the generosity of alumni, corporations, and interested individuals, a number of merit-based fellowships are awarded to students at Marshall. Fellowships are awarded throughout the admissions process to new students, and to returning students before their second year.

The Admissions Committee offers awards based on a range of criteria including scholastic merit, leadership, work experience, and other characteristics that may add value to the academic and social atmosphere at Marshall. These two-year awards vary from partial to full tuition remission.

Dean's 2nd Year Scholarships are awarded to second-year students who did not receive fellowships upon admission to the program. These awards are based on first-year accomplishments, including superior academic performance, leadership initiatives, and contributions to the Marshall and USC community.
Location

L.A. Skyline

Situated in Los Angeles, California, the Marshall School provides ready access to industries defining the new business frontier; bio-technology, life sciences, media, entertainment, communications and healthcare. As a prime gateway to Asia and Latin America, our location gives us a unique world view and has resulted in an alumni community that spans 44 countries. This vast network offers Marshall graduates exceptionally strong support for success in the global marketplace.
Student Life

Students at USC

Marshall's Los Angeles-based location is an ideal place for global commerce and cultural enrichment. Whether you want to catch a Lakers game (just 10 minutes from campus), or enjoy a morning at the Museum of Science and Industry (just across from USC Marshall’s Popovich Hall), you’ll be surrounded with new opportunities for growth and perspective.

Volleyball, snorkeling, and sailing are just some of the water activities our students enjoy along Los Angeles’ beaches, and more adventuresome types find their way on skiing, rafting and hiking trips.

For those who enjoy fine cuisine and the nightlife, the city offers hundreds of great restaurants and bars — or cafés for those who want to sip a latté before going window-shopping in any number of Los Angeles boutiques.

The University

UIUC Campus

Since its founding in 1867, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has earned a reputation as a world-class leader in research, teaching, and public engagement. Illinois faculty and alumni have earned Nobel and Pulitzer prizes and Olympic medals, have orbited the earth, and lead international corporations. The campus offers rich experiences beyond the classroom, from the culturally diverse student population to the best performing arts and Big Ten sports.
The Program

Department of Economics

The Illinois MBA has designed course modules that cover all aspects of business. Rather than taking separate courses in finance, accounting, and marketing, you take one all-inclusive course during consecutive eight-week modules—team-taught by experts in each field-enabling you to focus on core concepts and discover how they interact in practice. This unique curriculum helps develop your situational decision making and prepares you to be an effective business leader.

The first-year curriculum enables students to focus on one course at a time in eight-week modules. Within each module, a faculty team presents themes of business and a classroom structure that encourage students to become actively engaged by testing what they have learned through real-world projects, case studies, and simulations. The second-year curriculum allows students to focus on their concentrations and joint-degree programs. Academic policies, including the Illinois MBA honor code, are part of the Illinois MBA's commitment to provide students with the highest level of academic standards and professional experiences.

The small program allows your professors to know you by name, not by a number. Individual attention and availability are keys to your success, and working on team projects with students from around the globe, you’ll learn as much from your classmates as you do from your professors. We believe in the power of camaraderie and a comfortable learning environment rather than colossal class sizes.
The Faculty

US News & World Report has consistently ranked the Illinois MBA faculty very high. All professors have PhDs and are known nationally and internationally as leaders in business education, with research published in leading journals and business publications. They are teaching and enriching minds around the world. More importantly for our students, you will benefit from their corporate and consulting experiences in ways that combine theory with practice.
Tuition and Fees

Although the returns on a full-time MBA are measured in countless professional, financial, and personal rewards, it requires a significant investment of time and money. The Illinois MBA provides a number of options to help students finance their graduate business education. Many students borrow through student loans to defray educational costs. Other sources of financial aid include scholarships, internships, graduate assistantships and campus employment.

For costs associated with the Illinois MBA, please see Tuition and Fees.

Hofstra University - Frank G. Zarb School of Business
Office of Graduate Admissions

Hempstead, NY 11549-1260
United States

The Business School

Zarb School of Business

Located close to the global business capital of New York City, the Frank G. Zarb School for Business will help you find your edge. Technology. Resources. An acclaimed faculty. It's all here for you, including one of the nation's only programs with dual AACSB accreditations in business and accounting.

The School has organized its professional curricula to prepare students for leadership in business and not-for-profit institutions within and outside of the United States. It seeks to provide students with the common body of knowledge in accounting, finance, management, marketing, business law, production, quantitative methods, information systems, human behavior and business policy while encouraging them to explore the legal, ethical, social, economic, political and international implications of business decisions. Students are helped to strengthen their skills in communication and problem solving under conditions of uncertainty.

The School recognizes that educational excellence takes place in a community of scholars. It works to attract and retain effective faculty and to enhance faculty opportunities for professional and personal growth.

During the summer, the School of Business offers Hofstra students the opportunity to study at Erasmus University in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and at Hong-Ik University in Seoul, South Korea.
The Program

Monroe Lecture Center

Courses in the Hofstra M.B.A. Program expose students to innovative strategies, group interaction, and simulated business situations. The curriculum emphasizes a cross-functional approach to teaching. It also provides an experiential learning component within which students engage in business consulting and corporate internships as a means of refining their managerial skills. Students gain hands-on experience with technology, acquire a perspective on modern and international business practices, and study environmental and ethical factors as they pertain to business, government, and nonprofit institutions.

Tomorrow's business leaders must be able to communicate effectively, possess technological knowledge, understand cultural differences, and exhibit ethics and basic human values in addition to business and entrepreneurial flair. To help foster these skills, the Hofstra faculty employs a variety of instructional methods in and out of the classroom. The Hofstra University M.B.A. Program insists its students receive broad training in functional and managerial aspects in a chosen discipline. While comprehensive, the M.B.A. Program at the Zarb School maintains the flexibility to allow students to tailor their educations to their personal goals.
Financial Aid

Students at Hofstra

Hofstra makes financial support available to many students in the form of scholarships, grants, loans and employment. Eligibility for scholarships depends on the student's achievement and potential. Fellowships and scholarships towards tuition are awarded to qualified full-time and part-time graduate students based on academic excellence and/or demonstrated need. These fellowships and scholarships are normally applied toward tuition only and do not apply to such costs as University fees, living expenses, tutorials, credit by exam or specifies off-campus programs.

In addition, Financial Support is also available through State and Federal Agencies. Such support may depend on the financial need of the student. All scholarships, assistantships and grants, on a graduate level, are handled within a students' respective department. The graduate student should contact their particular department for information.
