Re: MBA for Working Professionals (Career Accelerator MBA)

MBA for Working Professionals (Career Accelerator MBA)
This program is designed for experienced professionals with at least two years of post-undergraduate degree, career-related work experience. It is taught in the evening in Greenville, South Carolina or during the afternoon/early evening on the Clemson campus. 33-45 semester hours. It can be taken as either a full time or part time program.

Clemson's working professional MBA curriculum includes a range of relevant courses and enrichment events intended to give students a firm grasp of broad-based business fundamentals. The program's learning environment is open and interactive, drawing on the rich work experiences and varied backgrounds of the students and professors. Designed for the convenience of working professionals with a minimum of two years of post-undergraduate degree, career-related work experience, this program is typically taken part time at the University Center of Greenville in the evenings. Some students elect to take the program mostly on the Clemson campus, usually in full-time mode. Students may also focus their MBA in the health services area (available in Greenville only), or pursue dual graduate degrees, combining the MBA with another advanced degree. This program may be started in any semester (spring, summer, fall).

To accommodate the diverse backgrounds of our students, the curriculum is broken into components:

Enrichment events (3 required) provide enhanced business-related workshops and career development training.

Foundation courses (5 classes, 11 credit hours) give the necessary background in business concepts needed to move to more advanced topics. Students with undergraduate courses in business may have satisfied some or all of these requirements.

The advanced graduate courses (11 classes, 33 credit hours) move the students forward to handle the realities and challenges of real business issues. In addition, students attend a choice of 3 enrichment events.

The health services emphasis , available in Greenville only, focuses at least five of the advanced courses on the specific concerns and context of the health care industry.

Access to a laptop computer is required and a basic knowledge of MicroSoft Excel is expected. All Career Accelerator students must have 2-years of work experience. Applicants with acceptable credentials and a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 may start the foundation courses in a non-degree status prior to completing the GMAT.

Re: MBA for Newly Graduated Non-Business Majors and Internationals (Career Launch MBA

MBA for Newly Graduated Non-Business Majors and Internationals (Career Launch MBA)

This program is designed for non-business undergraduates, with less than two years of post-baccalaureate, career-related work experience, who are just starting their career or for individuals who are new to the U.S. It is taught full-time, on the Clemson campus. 61 semester hours.

Clemson's on-campus MBA program includes a full range of courses intended to give students a firm grasp of broad-based business fundamentals and a choice of specializations, or a focus within a second, graduate degree. Added to this is the diversity of the students who come from a wide variety of non-business undergraduate majors and backgrounds. This program targets individuals who are non-business majors relatively new to their career, or who are new to the U.S. Students in this MBA program often pursue dual graduate degrees, frequently combining a technical masters or PhD with the MBA. U.S. citizens with a business undergraduate major and at least two years of work experience take the Career Accelerator program. This can be taken full or part-time, mostly on the Clemson Campus or entirely at the University Center in Greenville.

During the first year, all students take the same classes. By studying under a common curriculum, students build a solid, broad foundation of general management concepts and skills across all the key disciplines. The MBA Seminar series includes top industry speakers, etiquette seminars and career enhancing workshops.

During the second year, students take 4-6 classes in a specialization area. These include Innovation & Entrepreneurial Leadership, Supply Chain & Information Management, Real Estate, Marketing Management, or an area in which the student is pursuing a second graduate degree. Students also take strategy and project-oriented classes. This portion of the program enables them to focus on specific career goals as well as to integrate the functional skills of year one into an understanding of organizations as a total enterprise. With careful selection and prior planning, qualified students may pursue a dual graduate degree.

Summer Activities between the first and second year include internships, study abroad, or taking classes at Clemson and graduating early.
