Nautiyal’s family told the police that she was undergoing treatment for depression. “At 7 am, we received a call from one of her neighbours at Brotherhood Apartments. The body was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival. The body was then transferred to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital for a post-mortem examination,” a police officer said.

Nautiyal had completed a degree course in hotel management from Chandigarh after which she went to the US for MBA in July this year. “Nautiyal was upset because she felt that she had wasted her parents’ money by returning without completing the MBA course,” an officer said.
