Mangayarkarasi College of Education is a self-financing College that is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Teacher’s Education University. The college began its education journey in the year 2006, when it was established by the Mangayarkarasi Educational Trust. The college is approved by the National Council for Technical Education and Government of Tamil Nadu.

Mangayarkarasi College of Education for Women offers the following teacher education courses:

Bachelor of Education course:

In the bachelor of Education course, the college offers electives like physical and health education, computers in education, guidance and counseling and environmental education. Some of the general courses offered are first aid, moral and value education – Gandhian Thought and life skills courses.

Eligibility requirement:

Candidates with any UG degree course can join the B. Ed course, except Bachelor of Commerce Graduates since only Master of Commerce graduates are permitted to apply and B. Com candidates cannot apply to the B. Ed course offered by the Mangayarkarasi College of Education for Women.

The minimum marks required for admission at the graduation level or at the PG level of commerce course is 50% of OC candidates, 45% for BC candidates, 43% for MBC/DNC candidates and 40% for SC/ST candidates.

For getting to the M. Ed course, candidates must be B. Ed holders from a recognized institution or university.

Candidates will have to apply to the Mangayarkarasi College of Education for seeking admission to the B.Ed/M. Ed course only through the prescribed application form meant for this purpose. The application form can be obtained on payment of Rs.100 in the form of cash from the office of the college. When submitting the filled-up application form, candidates must submit a self-addressed postal cover and the application should be filled by the students on their own handwriting.
