Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, Minister, Government of Kerala felicitates the launch of MAAC's first venture in Kerala
Kottayam, March 25th, 2014: Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC), India's leading educator in high-end 3D Animation and Visual Effects, launched its centre in Kottayam, Kerala, today. The Kottayam centre will offer the entire range of advanced cinematic courses such as, Advance Diploma in 3D Animation EDGE (AD3D EDGE), D3D, VFX, etc. The centre is being inaugurated by Shri. Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, Honourable Minister, Government of Kerala, for Forest, Environment, Transport, Sports and Cinema. The Kottayam Centre is MAAC's first endeavour in Kerala.
The centre is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure to train students on the latest 3D Animation & Visual Effects technology. Kerala is a huge market for animation and multimedia with the Malayalam Film Industry utilizing VFX to a great extent. Consequently, VFX Plus and Multimedia courses are being introduced in the centre, to make the prospective students industry-ready.
The dignitaries felicitating the inauguration include Mr. Santhosh Kumar, Chairman, Municipal Corporation, Kottayam, Mr. Shajan Samuel Sr. Vice President MAAC, Mr. Ravi DC, Managing Partner, DC Books, Mrs. Jayasree Prasanan, Municipal Councilor, Kottayam, Shri. Jimmy George, National Secretary, NCP.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Shajan Samuel Sr. Vice President MAAC said, "Kottayam is India's first 100 % literate city, therefore people have genuine appreciation for education. The requirement for skilled professionals has increased by leaps and bounds and we are sure that our Kottayam Centre will be able to contribute to the 3D Animation and VFX industry by producing well-trained individuals with thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of the industry."
Biby Abraham Alex, the Centre Director of MAAC, Kottayam, an animation enthusiast himself, said that MAAC Kottayam is fully geared to serve and provide animation and multimedia training to aspiring media students of Kottayam.
