Admission Process for B.Des in NIFT
The admission for the design course is based on a written entrance exam, personal interview and Group Discussion for the eligible candidates conducted by NIFT. The written examination is mainly for evaluating the candidates’ knowledge and skill in the opted programme. The test includes General Ability Test (GAT) and the GAT test is to evaluate

There will also be a Creative Ability Test. The Creative Ability Test (CAT) is mainly for evaluating the candidates’ creativity, Innovation and designing skill. After that there is a situation test also. The candidates who pass the test are selected for the final interview and Group Discussion. The short listed candidates are then called for counseling.
The application forms and prospectus are available from selected branches of Axis Bank and IDBI bank. The completely filled applications should be forwarded with a DD of Rs.350/- to the concerned address mentioned in the prospectus. The application without the DD is not accepted by the institution. The admission is mainly based on the written test. The list of selected candidates is developed by the NIFT Board Members.
