Kuril Island

It is between Russia and Japan the conflict is mostly related to the occupation after world war-II. The conflict is of sovereignty of the kuril island it is also known as Northern Territory dispute.

The Kuril Islands dispute , also known as the Northern Territories dispute , is a dispute between Japan and Russia over sovereignty over the South Kuril Islands.
 
Its a dispute between Japan and Russia over the sovereignty over the south most Kuril Islands. These islands are under Russian administration but are also claimed by Japan.. :SugarwareZ-260:
 
The disputed island was occupied by the soviet forces in the world war II particularly during Manchurian Strategic Offensive operation are under Russian admiistration but they are claied by Japan as the extension of one of the island called Hokkaido perfecture and she terms them as Northern Terriroty.

In the San Franciso treaty between the two nation, Japan should give up all the claims on island but later does not acknowledge Soviet Union as having sovereignty over the island.
