The Kirloskar group of companies was one of the earliest industrial groups which made a mark in the engineering industry in India back in 1888 and incorporated in 1920.The group produces pumps, engines, compressors, lathes and electrical equipments like electric motors, transformers and generators (it is the world's largest gensetmanufacturer). While Laxmanrao Kirloskar established the group, his son S.L. Kirloskar played a major role in its rapid growth. S. L.
