There is a need for proper infrastructure to develop the farming as an profitable industry. to Indian context , we do not have proper environment for farming to be lucrative as far as the government support is concerned. we need research on the crops , the methods, the technology and also on the marketing channels . the problem at the present is that the farmers only get a small part of the market prize on their crops.
crops are chosen by the tradition and not by the research backed solutions.
the methods are traditional and need to find out the economical technology developed to suit the requirements.
the government should make efforts to make reach the markets to the farmers in the beginning, instead of farmers reaching the market in the end. that will turn the farmers the requirement based farming from the traditional ones. requirement based farming will definitely urge the farmers to improve productivity
