When we talk about success or achievement, where does it come from? From inside of you. Right? Yes, But what is that inside of you that brings you closer to success and achievements. A Thirst for Success.
The people who have the thirst for achievement are very close to success only if they keep this thirst growing and do not let it die till you get what you want. In your path of success there will be so many times when you will feel like giving up and leave everything to others and at those times it becomes difficult to keep that thirst on. But what can keep this thirst growing is your positive attitude towards looking at things.
Its your ability to look at the glass half filled as half full or half empty. It can decide what you can achieve. Keeping a positive attitude for long is difficult in situations where you feel totally helpless and want to run away. What do you then? In such situations you can always take a step back or lower your speed and give yourself and your mind sometime to react and analyse what is going wrong. Where are you wrong, is it the targeted achievement or the efforts put in.
One of my good friends once told me that when you trying hard and not getting anywhere then there are only two problems:
(1) Either you are aiming at the wrong goal
(2) or your means (method or way) of achieving that goal is not correct.
So you have to choose between the two and reach where you want to be which means either compromise on the goal or the means of achieving it. For eg: If you trying to climb mount everest and unable to do that then just sit down and analyse whether your body is fit enough to achieve the height or your goal isn’t too high for your experience (aims at the first problem) or your method of climbing it is correct or not (aims at the second problem). When you get your answer simply change one of them and you will achieve your new goal.
Please notice nowhere in the above example I have said that compromise on your attitude. You need to keep this in mind that you have to achieve may be a little less (which becomes your new goal upon analysis). A positive attitude is the weapon to fight biggest battles of fear, failure and hopelessness.
But from where do you get so much of positivity? – You get it from positive people, successful people, happy people and surroundings not only in person but also through their experiences mentioned in new papers, books, autobiographies etc. So the best way to be positive is to read about them, to talk about their path to success. Doing all this will give you boost in the move and not giving up. Having said that I would not like to convey that don’t get close to failures. Be in touch with them and discuss what they felt when they gave up. This will guide you when not to give up and what not to do when you are at it. Failures too give us immense learnings.
At the end I will only say that always try and keep your glass half full and keep it positive till you achieve your set goal.
