JOYFEST - 215 Colleges come together to Celebrate !!!

A students initiative during the Joy of Giving Week

88% of the students want to do something for society.

96% don’t know how.- according to a survey in JAM Magazine.

Joyfest is a students' initiative a step forward, to address the growing needs of our society. Joyfest is about: spreading the joy of giving – students will give note books, stationery, bicycles, donate blood, clothes, shoes, give their time for teaching.

Colleges will invite underprivileged the disabled, the needy to the institution. Be one with them for a day. Give them love kindness and respect.

215 colleges and institutions registered:

95 colleges and Rotaract institutions in Mumbai have registered for JOYFEST - making it the biggest event of this kind in Mumbai - 4 lakh students participating.

215 colleges have registered nationally - a virtual who’s who list –it is truly a sign of the times that youth wants to participate.

Rotaract, club of Mumbai:

Rotaract is an international organization for the youth in the age category of 18 through 30 years, who believe they can make a difference. "Rotaract Mumbai is privileged to be partnering Joyfest 2010".

Yuva Unstoppable Ahmedabad;

Enlightening lives of the underprivileged children and India's Youth by bringing them together.To provide Yuva-ites (minimum of 2 hours/week) to any organization or individual. They are partnering Joyfest 2010 in Gujarat.

1. NGO Mela at Mithibai : Sept 29. time 11 am- 2.00 pm

2. Kiran - A Ray of Hope, Mithibai Sept 29. Time 12.00 - 3.00

3. Charity run by NMIMS Sept 26, Time 6.30 am - 8.00 am

.4.5 km from Taj Lands end to Bandstand



1. Fulfilling the wishes of the girls at Adivasi Kanya Chatralay and spending quality time by Rotaract club of Bombay Heights.

2. Charity sale with 28 NGOs by Government Law College.

3. Don’t Dump. Donate- Computer Donation Drive by Rotaract Club of Mumbai Shivaji Park.

4. Musical Evening at Old Age Home by Rotaract Club of Ambernath.

5. Spending Quality time with AIDS Patients and giving them daily use items by Pathfinders.

6. Fun n Fair with NGO kids by Rotaract Club of Bombay West.

7. Thanks giving (Shukriya) to all the Autorickshaw drivers, BEST conductors, by Rotaract Club of SIES Nerul.

8. Clay Modeling Event with underprivileged kids by Rotaract Club of Jai Hind College.

Besides the above there is a bouquet of events during the Joyfest.

1. Card making competition with the underprivileged kids and then the exhibition of the same cards by RGIT, Mumbai.

2. Computer literacy classes for the underprivileged by Sardar Patel College of Engineering, Mumbai.

Nationally :

1. Football Match, dance competition and dance workshop with the underprivileged by SIIB, Pune.

2. Art and painting workshop for the underprivileged by MID, Pune

3. Visit to old age home and spending quality time with them by JVIMS, Jamnagar

4. Card making competition, playing games and spending quality time with the underprivileged kids by SIBM, Bangalore

5. A one day fair for the underprivileged kids by SVNIT, Surat.

6. Selling Paper bags and giving the proceeds to charity and spending quality time with the mentally challenged and underprivileged kids byFountainhead School, Surat.

7. IIM-A, will invite citizens to a guided tour of the institute. for a small fee. The money collected will go for charity.

8. XLRI will arrange donation drives all over the city of Jamshedpur.

Joyfest will be celebrated in 20 cities including Pune, Delhi,Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Surat, Jamshedpur, Kolkatta,10 lakh students will participate nationally.

Celebrities who have given their participation - Mini Mathur, Arshad Warsi Maria Goretti, Raghu Ram, Russhita Singh.

Tushar Gandhi peace activist, and great grandson of the Mahatma has endorsed the Joyfest. He appeals to the tomorrow’s generation to do whatever they can for this noble endeavour. See
