IMT Ghaziabad once again, through its Make A Difference Foundation (MADF) celebrated its annual Joy of Summers Week – 2011 from Sep 26 – Oct 2 on the lines of Joy of Giving Week celebrated nationwide. Giving selflessly never has a time limit. In fact, it doesn’t have any limits – except for what you set yourself.
Many IMT-ians celebrated the spirit of the college by joyously contributing towards MADF’s JOY OF SUMMERS WEEK in the form of money and in kind – Chocolates, school stationery and one month’s school fees for underprivileged school children.
This year JOY OF SUMMERS WEEK MADF grew by leaps and bounds. Generous funds flowed in. Following up on the week, for the second phase, 230 IMT-ians – faculty and students pitched in resources and planned a celebration for 103 underprivileged kids. Huge by any standards, this is a unique, one of its kind events to be held in a B School on such a scale. All 103 have been invited to the beautiful IMT Ghaziabad campus for a day of fun, frolic, knowledge and food on 16th October, 2011.
The IMT-ian management skills have been put to full use as carefully planned celebrations included activities spanning the entire day. Starting off with welcoming the kids at 9 am, the day had outdoor activities, a cultural show, lunch, lot of music, craft and painting sessions, a quiz and a movie. The day ends with each happy child taking home a return gift.
Students and faculty members have donated chocolates, stationery and one month’s school fees for each of these children. For this, MADF had partnered with NGO –SADRAG (Social and Development Research and Action Group), a registered Not for Profit Organization working in the area of child education in villages in and around Noida and Ghaziabad. SADRAG runs 5 schools for the underprivileged children in the villages.
