The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) is one of the biggest engineering exams conducted every year by the CBSE and IITs for about 13 Lakh applicants. The JEE Main is conducted for the applicants who are willing to pursue engineering as a career option in the premier engineering institutes of the country. The selection of the applicants is quite a rigorous process as the applicants after the JEE main entrance exam shall have to appear for the JEE advanced exam which has to be given by the 1.5 Lakh applicants who clears the JEE Main exam.
The applicants interested in taking up the JEE main entrance exam shall have to first adhere to all the eligibility criteria set by the central board of the secondary education (CBSE) and Indian Institutes Of Technology (IIT). The exam shall take place in both online, offline modes therefore; applicants based on their choice, and preference can opt for the modes available for giving the exam. The online exam shall be conducted on 9th, 11th, 12th and 19th April 2014. The JEE Main 2014 application forms have been released on 15th November, 2013 and the last date available to the applicants for availing the application form is 26th December, 2013.

ADDED FEATURES OF JEE MAIN 2014:[/b]
1. In the states of Maharashtra and Odisha their respective state exams recognized as MTCET and OJEEE have been replaced by JEE Main. The seats in these states colleges shall be allotted based on the ranks obtained by the applicant in the JEE Main 2014 exam.
2. From 2014, the entire procedure of filling the application form has been made online which means there shall be no physical sale of application form for JEE Main 2014.
EXAM PATTERN:[/b]
· Total Number of sections: 3 ( physics, chemistry and Maths)
· Total number of question: 90 (30 questions in each section)
· Right answer shall add 1 mark while wrong answer shall deduct 1/4th mark of the applicant
· The question paper shall have objective questions with multiple answer and the applicant has to choose only one option as right answer
· The applicants can take up exam in both online and offline modes.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:[/b]
The applicants interested in applying for the JEE Main 2014 exam shall only be allowed to appear for the entrance exam when they adhere to all the set eligibility criteria of JEE Main. Below mentioned are the eligibility criteria to be adhered by the interested applicants:
· The applicants should have cleared and passed their class XIIth or equivalent exam in 2012 or 2013.
· If the result of the qualifying exam is to be disclosed in the 2014, such applicants are not eligible to apply.
· The applicants can give only three attempts of JEE Main 2014 exam.
· The interested applicants should be born on or after 1st October 1989 and in case of SC,ST, PWD the applicants born in 1984 are eligible to apply for JEE Main 2014 exam.
· The applicants of Odisha and Maharashtra states shall have to adhere to all the mentioned eligibilities.

APPLICATION FORM[/b]
The JEE Main 2014 Application Form can be availed from the official website and from this year onward the entire procedure of filling the application form has become online unlike the last year and every applicants interested in applying shall have to carry out the entire procedure online as there shall be no physical sale of the application Form.
The applicants can avail the application form only after paying a certain amount known as application fee. The application fee to be paid by the general category applicants is different and is on the higher side in comparison with the reserved or underprivileged category applicants. The payment of application fee can be made in offline or online mode. The online mode of payment is related to the payment through credit card or debit card while in the offline mode, the payment is to be made through a payment or Bank Challan in any branch of ICICI, Syndicate or Canara Bank. The application form of JEE Main 2014 was released on 15 November 2013 and the sale of the application form ends on 26 December 2013.
It is advised to the interested applicants that they fill the form within the stipulated period, as no request of extending the deadline shall be entertained by the CBSE. For more information See Here
SELECTION CRITERIA:[/b]
The applicants shall be selected based on normalization method in the ratio of 60:40. The applicants rank in the JEE Main 2014 exam, JEE Main scores and class XIIth marks shall be the parameters of selection.
RESERVATION OF SEATS:[/b]
There is certain reservation granted to the underprivileged section of the society. The reserved category includes OBC, SC, ST, applicants with disability. Following is the distribution of seats to the reserved category:
Other Backward class (OBC): 27%
Scheduled caste (SC): 15%
Scheduled tribes (ST): 7.5%
Disabled applicants: 3%
