Defying concerns of a downturn in the economy, JBIMS has yet again proven to be a force to be reckoned with, successfully capping off the season with students being placed in diverse sectors and coveted profiles. In addition to the regular companies reposing their faith, the institute has forged new ties with many first time recruiters. International profiles were offered by reputed brands in the industry providing an opportunity for global exposure. Also, this season witnessed the comeback of a number of old recruiters to the campus. Batch Profile The Batch of 2014 contains a diverse mix of student profiles attracting the best talent from different professions across the country. Engineers forming a core of the batch strength are a very common scenario at every B-school, but the institute takes pride in the fact that along with engineers, there are a good number of professionals from other fields such as Chartered Accountancy, Medicine, Law and Management Studies. Chartered Accountants comprise 5% of the batch strength, all of whom have been placed in sought-after roles in reputed companies in the finance sector. The batch boasts of strong gender diversity with girls forming 21% of the total strength. On the whole, the versatile backgrounds of the students attracted a wide spectrum of profiles from different companies.

BFSI & IB Allaying all concerns of an economic downturn, the BFSI sector continued its stellar performance with companies like Citibank, Standard Chartered Bank, HSBC, J P Morgan Chase, ICICI Bank, Avista Advisory, J M Financial, ICICI Prudential AMC, HDFC Property Ventures, Tata Capital, L&T Finance, MetLife, Indiabulls, SBI, Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Development Credit Bank, FINO Paytech, Singhi Advisors, IDBI Federal, Finstream, NCDEX, Ideal Insurance, IDBI Federal, Capital Metrics and Risk Solutions, Indian Angel Network, Asian Fin Trade Services etc reinforcing JBIMS as one of the best finance destinations of the country. In addition to this, Investment Banking firms offered front end roles to the students. FMCG & PHARMA The FMCG majors such as Hindustan Unilever Ltd., Procter & Gamble, Colgate-Palmolive, ITC, GSK Consumer Healthcare, Dabur, Kimberley Clark, and General Mills offered attractive roles in the sales and marketing domain. They recruited students for profiles across functions and a large percentage of the batch was hired into this sector. This year also saw a strong inclination towards the Medical and Pharma industry which were mainly represented by Medtronic, J&J Pharma, Abbott, Novartis, MSD Pharma and Sanofi. CONGLOMERATES Diverse profiles across multiple domains were offered by leading business conglomerates like Mahindra & Mahindra, Reliance Industries Ltd., Raymond, Larsen and Toubro and DCM Shriram Ltd. as a part of the summer internship program. Students had the opportunity to choose from varied profiles such as FMP, General Management, SCM, Reverse SCM, Logistics and EPC. CONSULTING & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY Consulting and IT, as always, was one of the popular profiles and consulting roles were offered by reputed companies like KPMG, Jones Lang LaSalle, HCL, Tata Consultancy Services, Capgemini, Michael Page International, Knowledge Faber, etc. Real estate consulting and HR consulting were some of the niche profiles offered in this domain. MANUFACTURING, CHEMICALS & REAL ESTATE The real estate, chemical and manufacturing domain saw the participation of industry majors such as Cummins, AkzoNobel, Bajaj Auto, Godrej & Boyce, BASF, Arvind Brands, Skoda, Jaipur Rugs, Camlin, Galaxy Surfactants, PRA Realty etc. These companies hired in good numbers from the campus strengthening their association with JBIMS. MEDIA & TELECOM Interesting profiles were offered to the students in this sector providing them opportunities to build promising careers in the field. The increasing recognition and impact of the students of JBIMS in the industry was exemplified by the presence of companies like Vodafone, HT Media, Star TV, Cinemax, DraftFCB Ulka, Reliance Broadcast, Focus Circle, Brand Care, PrimeTime India, ShopClues, etc. OTHERS Along with the above companies, the other participating companies from diverse sectors were Ginger Hotels, Mattel Toys, Dassault Systemes, ShopClues, Omnitech, etc. Srivathsan Jagadeesan, a part of the Human Resources department, P&G says, "We have had a very productive association with JBIMS for a long time.
