Is the trust vote a misnomer?

July 22,2008 had been a great date for India more than for UPA.3 MPs had shown crores of Rs before the speaker alleging that they were bribed.I'm not gng to argue about who is behind this corruption.Is trust vote seriously serving its purpose.Trust vote is meant is an option given for the politicians to make or break the Govt if they feel that the policies of the Govt are against the ppl.For this purpose there was an intense debate about various policies of the Govt.So after the debate every MP should take their stance on the Govt.This is the real trust vote.But seeing yesterday's drama,it looks this debate doesn't carry any value.No.of adjournment made yesterday also confirms this.Every MP is going to paid some ransom for his/her stance.So he/she could have decided before entering the Parliament premises.Is trust vote a misnomer?If an MP is going to switch places it could be cos of the money.Is this what you say a trust?
