Love, as they say, is blind. Then why does a relationship between an older woman-younger man, or a vast age difference, receive more than its fair share of attention, most of it being negative? The film “Nishabd” portrays a relationship between a 60 year old man and an 18 year old girl. The relationship would’ve worked if the age difference wasn’t so large, but in this case, it faces barriers and hindrances peculiar to unconventional relationships. In today’s world are we still restricted to defining love by the laws of society? Is this restriction justified?
