No it is not. That would mean using company resources on company time for purposes not relating to the company's activities, which is not what the company pays you for
 
I agree with the response above. It is definitely not ethical.
Besides just as a cautionary note - there are a lot of companies which track web usage very closely, which is why someone who is spotted to be using company resources for a job search, is likely to be given the pink slip at the slightest excuse!
 
I would also agree to the point that company resources are only meant for company use and not personal use........... specially finding another job

And people who do this are not being honest to the company they are in....

Its ethical to use company computer during your lunch break and free time to hunt for a job. Dont do it while you have some work to get done.

But if your company monitors your machine, its advisable not to do it.
 
yes why not. This is becos we should be allowed to do our own things even in office and similarly when we r at home, we sometimes take back our work to complete them
 
this is something like cheating ...throwing dust in ur own house....but when self objectives are dominating the organisational objectives...these kind of things happen
