Hey everyone,
I’ve been wanting to talk about this for a while, and I’d love to hear your opinions too.
Lately, I’ve noticed that graphic design as a profession is kind of shifting — and not always in a good way. With tools like Canva, Adobe Express, and now AI tools like DALL·E and Firefly, it feels like anyone can be a designer overnight. Just type a prompt, pick a template, and you’re done. Fast and easy, right?
But here’s the thing — where’s the creativity?
Everything looks the same now. Logos, posters, Instagram posts… It’s all starting to feel like recycled content with different colors. The personal touch is missing. The soul of the design feels lost.
I totally get that templates and AI save time. They’re great for small businesses or people without a design budget. But I feel like the value of real designers is being overlooked now.
A template can’t understand your brand story. It can’t think beyond “aesthetic.” It doesn’t know your audience, your goals, or the emotion you’re trying to create. A good designer brings strategy + creativity — not just visuals.
I’m not totally against AI — honestly, it’s fun to experiment with. But I do wonder…
Are we headed toward a time when only the top 1% of designers survive, and the rest are replaced by AI-generated stuff?
Designers are being told to “adapt or be irrelevant,” but it’s not just about learning new tools. It’s about redefining our roles. We’re not just decorators — we’re problem-solvers, storytellers, communicators.
Would love to hear different perspectives — whether you’re a designer, a startup owner, or just someone who cares about visuals. I’m genuinely curious.

Templates vs True Design

AI: Tool or Threat?

Some Questions for You All:
- Do you think AI is helping or hurting the design world?
- Is it just a trend, or is this the future?
- Can creativity really be automated?
- How do we stand out as designers when everyone’s using the same tools?
Would love to hear different perspectives — whether you’re a designer, a startup owner, or just someone who cares about visuals. I’m genuinely curious.
