Is Extracurricular Actives Important In College

Do you think extracurricular activities like sports, festivals, competition,etc...in college help the student or distract them from their studies

Extracurricular activities are opportunities to engage in extensions of academic activities and/or non-academic activities under school/college auspices. There are many types of extracurricular activities. Athletics is a major for of extracurricular activity at many schools

So what do u think that their should be extracurricular activities in college or not........
 
Extracurricular activities should not be eliminated neither from schools nor from colleges.
The very reason i feel they are important is because they are very good stress busters.
A student's life is filled with so lot of tensions - ranging from being a good student at school getting good marks to being a good child at home. In this case, it is often seen children having no time to play. It is just like "All work and no play makes jack a dull boy" And on second thoughts its an easy way to keep ourselfs fit and fine with additonal incentives of being able to grasp new skill and qualities like team work etc etc.
 
extracurricular activities are quite important in the school as well as the college level. they are quite important for the over all developement of an individual.
 
I think the major reason ppl shuld devote some time for extra curriculars is the confidence and interaction which they get and also the xposure when they get involved in such activities...one day my mam said tht one of the most imp thing an mba shuld do apart frm studies is build good networking skills...therefore i think extra curriculars help u a lot in building a network
 
Definitely they are important. You get to explore your physical, creative , social, political and career interests with like minded people.

Extra curricular activities ensures a lot of interaction with the outside world and makes us to respect the cultures and tradition adopted by the other people. It is the effective method to view the practical world without this the life will be incomplete and the people will be underdeveloped.
 
It is important to include the extracurricular activities in colleges and schools. Students who become a member of extracurricular activities can enhance their overall learning activities and future employment opportunities.
