I happened on a video by Gerald Celente whose lead implies that America is on the verge of becoming the first undeveloped nation. I like Celente but I've heard this all before (usually by him ).
I had expected him to touch on the de-industrialization of the country, or the flight of capital, etc., but what I mostly got is that America is going to have to retrench from being a consumer driven society to one of more modest spending and savings. Hello! I've been hearing that message for 20 years now and it was old then. But maybe times have finally caught up and the message is prophetic now. I don't know. What do you think? Same old same old; common sense; inspired thinking?
Is the premise even valid? Is America on the way to becoming an undeveloped nation?
