Introduction to Adidas Group

Description
Adidas was founded in 1948 by Adolf Dassler, following the split of Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik between him and his older brother Rudolf. Rudolf later established Puma, which was the early rival of Adidas. Registered in 1949, Adidas is currently based in Herzogenaurach, Germany. Puma is also based in Herzogenaurach.

Audit is an adidas Group corporate function that works with all brands, regions, and HQ organizations to further improve risk management, internal controls, corporate governance, and the effectiveness of business processes. We help determine whether the adidas Group's network of risk management, internal controls, and governance processes is functioning in a manner that ensures operational and strategic risks are appropriately identified and managed; significant financial and operational information is accurate, reliable and timely; management practices are in compliance with Group policies and applicable laws. We are also responsible for making sure that the employees' actions are in compliance with a professional ethical code of conduct; assets are acquired economically, used efficiently, and adequately protected; strategic and operational plans are developed, implemented and achieved; quality and continuous improvement are fostered in the Group's control process; and brand values of the adidas Group are protected. Group Finance covers a broad spectrum of finance activities from controlling to planning and analysis, to financial consolidation and accounting services. In all our teams we strive for excellence in service, objectivity, big picture thinking, collaboration, and fact-based analysis. We want to earn the trust and respect of our business partners and internal customers.

Training All Customer Service employees receive an initial three-week training session and then job-specific training as they progress through the organization. As designers, we are driven by Adi Dassler's original vision that every athlete should have the best footwear for his or her sport. We believe that the most beautiful and functional product is an articulate interpretation of the human body that answers an athlete's physical needs. Designing the next generation of sporting and sporting inspired apparel and footwear is no easy task. That's why working here is a tough competition among the best designers in the field, but we are a closely-knit team of professionals who understand the delicate balance between form and function. Partnering with a team of other extraordinarily talented designers will only make you better as a result. With five design centers on three continents—North America, Asia and Europe—we have design initiatives that transcend cultures, locations, people, sports and style.

Skills and Qualifications Relevant Degree/higher education at a recognized school/college Passion for sport Passion for design Creativity and artistic talent. In this department, a designer without any passion (whether it be for sport or fashion) would be like an artist without inspiration. Human Resources is on the front line of servicing and interacting with our employees. The HR Department strives to create an inspiring, high-performance organization that consistently broadens the horizons of our employees and encourages them to have a winning attitude, love the brand, put their team first, play to win and break records.

We achieve this by focusing on two key areas—talent readiness and performance enhancement. Talent readiness means having the right talent at the right time, with the right skills in positions where they can excel. Performance enhancement is about nurturing employees so they perform at their best and ultimately move into positions of increased responsibility.

Skills and Qualifications The ability to understand the business and then enable leaders to effectively coach their teams so they can win in the marketplace is the single most important service we can bring to adidas Group. Applying existing tools and themes in a business-minded fashion allows us to build relevance and credibility with the teams we support. An ideal team member should be driven to succeed, open to building lasting relationships across the organization, inquisitive, sensitive to the needs of others, and possess a certain level of business acumen and pragmatism.

Training and Internships The adidas Group HR team participates in our Global Functional Trainee Program (FTP). Opportunities in this program are offered once a year. The FTP targets recent graduates from top universities who are given the opportunity to rotate through different functional areas within the HR department. Our goal is to place the trainee in an entry-level position at the end of their assignment, if there is a good fit between the trainee and the adidas Group. Internships are offered within the adidas Group HR team throughout the year as meaningful projects arise. These positions generally involve work on one or two main projects as well as give the intern dayto-day practical HR experience to prepare them for entry-level positions upon graduation.
