Work done & Experience as an Intern My work at Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship was to meet the objectives as broadly defined for the internship length. Although I am not allowed to state my work done at CIIE in length since I had signed a No Disclosure Bond but I would just brief some of the activities. As known from the fact that the work of CIIE is to help startups in every possible way may be office space, mentoring, funding whether Venture Capital, Angel Investor or Government Grants etc. I started of my internship with an introductory session by the interns at CIIE followed by the management of CIIE. It was a very good session since I came to various people and also what they do. I started of my first week with a session by Prof. Rakesh Basant on Invention, Ideation and Innovation. It helped me learn various things as through interaction with the Prof and the other interns. I learned about market feasibility and viability of any product and its importance. This followed zeal to learn more about entrepreneurship and its aspects related to it and I prepared case studies on two companies Cloud 9 & Spardin. These case studies were prepared to be presented to the Investors for funding and Spardin got within a week. This whole week I kept on learning one or the other aspects about entrepreneurship and soon it excited me to become an entrepreneur one day. I was filled with zeal when at that point I pen down two of my ideas then and there and thought to get feedback on it from CIIE. The second week was thus followed by the iWeekend program where I presented my own business idea to the CIIE management. I got some valuable feedback on it and I am sure that I would make a company of mine in the coming future. Thus in between I even had a session by Prof. A. S. Rao on Ideation. The third week followed with preparing an Report on some specific industry sectors like IT, Retail, Agriculture, Education, Infrastructure, Hotel & Hospitality etc. and thus I prepared a report on the Retail Sector as with pre-determined agenda as with specifications. This made me learn more about the different sectors and also how a particular sector is being evaluated. I even chose to work off hours and even read a book named BOULEVARD OF BROKEN DREAMS by Josh Lerner which is all about Why Public Efforts to Boost Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital have failed ± and what to do about it. This further made to off hour research more on the aspects as how a person could rise funding other than the VC, AI and other networks present in the country. I found out about the government grants, approach other incubation centers or industry experts who have immense amount of money, and even these days they have started making venture to invest in start-ups. The fourth week was a very learning week till now and everything that I learned till now applied as when I actually myself evaluated a couple of ideas of Power of Ideas. I ran through close to 250 ideas in the week and learnt about how actually an idea is broke down and evaluated. I came back to Delhi as my College started back but my internship continued further from Delhi.

I would complete my college hours, go back home, and then again start working for CIIE and I would complete the project that I took charge of at CIIE. My project here at Delhi would be finding the possible ways as through which CIIE could raise funds from other than Venture Capital, Angel investors and certain government agencies. This marked the end to my internship but not my zeal to learn more about entrepreneurship and become an entrepreneur.
