"International Sports: A Playground for Racism?"

Racial abuse in sports isn’t just a “bad apple” problem — it’s a systemic issue that international federations are choosing to ignore. Whether it’s footballers being taunted with monkey chants in Italy, or players in tennis facing racial slurs at grand slam events, the pattern is clear: racism in sports continues to thrive, and international bodies are turning a blind eye.

Why? Is it because money talks louder than morals? The financial juggernauts behind global sports—such as FIFA, the IOC, and UEFA—are far too concerned with keeping their cash cows happy than tackling the root of the problem. We've seen countless instances where racism was blatantly ignored. When players speak out, they’re often silenced or dismissed. When clubs make empty promises to ‘address the issue,’ little to no real change ever follows.

Take the example of high-profile players facing racism at the hands of fans; instead of hefty punishments, offenders are often handed light fines or brief stadium bans. The issue isn't a few isolated incidents; it’s a culture of complacency at the top.

How many more need to suffer before these international organizations take real action? The truth is, racial abuse won’t stop until the powerful gatekeepers of sports stop protecting profits over people.
