
Insight 2010 – Day 2
The 2nd day of insight 2010 was filled with a lot of action and entertainment, as was expected. The market research fair had more than 16 stalls of different companies, each offering a fun-filled experience for the visitors.
The event-lineup in the day included the finals of Bone of Contention, the first ever marketing debate competition held in India. IIM-C and IIM-K emerged as finalists, with IIM-K clinching the title in a closely contested debate. Ad Mad Show, the ad-making competition, saw a large turnout of about 600 and brought out really creative advertisement ideas from the participating teams.
Events like Race Course provided a mix of Bollywood and bidding action in one go, thus attracting large crowds (a total of about 500 in three rounds) in a middle of a hot October morning. The participating audience also got an opportunity to win gift hampers from Wagh-Bakri and food coupons from other outlets.
Other evergreen favourites like Tongue Twisters and Housie (Tambola) also saw a huge participation (a combined total of approx. 800-900). Some innovative events like Pandora’s Box (a fun-filled memory game) challenged participants and high level of enthusiasm of people ensured that the event was a great success.
Other attractions Like Curfew Paintball arcade (a war-zone based adventure simulation event) were saw a huge lineup of youngsters throughout the day. An apt finish to the day was given by largest events of Insight – Music Mania (stage performance by IIM-A Music Club) and Antakshari - the biggest crowd puller of INSIGHT. The performances in both the events were greatly enjoyed and applauded for by the audience.
Other parallel events in the day included a campus walk, which was attended by more than 400 participants in the day. Also, there was an exhibition of paintings organized by Finesse – the fine arts club of IIM-A, again received very well. Both these events received numerous requests from the visitors for a day’s extension.
Besides these events, the numerous food & beverage stalls provided for refreshments for the visitors, volunteers and of course food coupon winners. A smooth coordination of INSIGHT, one of the three biggest events of IIM Ahmedabad, was made possible by a team of highly energetic volunteers and student personnel at the stalls.
