Android is all over.. The Android OS was the most popular smartphone platform in the States with the OS installed in one of every three smartphones sold at retail.
Android’s rise sees RIM being knocked off the top spot, with the company having to settle for a 28 per cent share of the market, five points behind Android, while Apple’s iOS sits in third place with 22 per cent of the market.
That roaring sound you’re hearing is the noise of a jet assisted Android rocketing past iPhones and Blackberry handsets as the Google OS becomes the top selling operating system in US smartphones.
