It is that time of the year again, when the tricolour flutters aloft over rooftops and every heart sings the tune of patriotism. As the nation celebrates 64 years of independence, IIT Delhi organized a Freedom Run to commemorate the event. This year the Freedom run saw tremendous participation from the students of Department of Management Studies, IIT Delhi despite the rain playing spoilsport. Students were seen wearing bright red DMS T-shirts and enthusiasm plain on their faces as they made a dash for the finish line.
The freedom run was scheduled separately for men and women. For women it started from the Kailash hostel and ended at the Student Activity Centre (SAC), while for men it began and ended at SAC. DMS students accounted for almost three fourths of the participants in the event which is quite an achievement considering that the student population of IIT Delhi is huge. Another feather in our cap is that, all the prizes in the women marathon were won by DMS students.
First prize – Satakshi Komal, MBA First year
Second prize – Madhulika Tyagi, MBA Final year
Third prize – Deboshree Roy, MBA Final year
After the run ended, trophies were awarded to the winners and refreshments were served bringing smiles across tired faces.
