IIMA Doctoral Colloquium

The 4th IIMA Doctoral Colloquium was inaugurated by Prof. Samir Barua, Director, IIM Ahmedabad. Prof Barua told in his inaugural address that top business schools should become knowledge creators and Doctoral Colloquium has become one of the important events in the institute’s calendar. Prof Errol D’Souza while delivering his welcome address mentioned the importance of management research and also said Doctoral Colloquium provides an excellent platform for researchers to share their work and to collaborate. Key note address on importance of multidisciplinary research and service science was delivered by Prof Jos Lemmink. Dean School of Business and Economics, Maastricht University, The Netherlands. He emphasised on collaboration between India and European Union in finding solutions to the problems faced by Industry and in value creation in the Academia.

Fifty Six researchers across the globe are presenting in different areas of management studies, are participating in the event. The colloquium provides an opportunity for budding management researchers to present and discuss their research ideas and problems and to build a strong network of management researchers. Various tracks of the colloquium cover areas such as Business Policy and Strategy, Finance and Accounting, Marketing, Organizational Behaviour, Personnel and Industrial Relations, Production and Quantitative Methods, Public Policy & Public Systems, Computer and Information Systems, Economics, and Agriculture Management.

The events across the two days include various workshops and panel discussions by eminent researchers and practitioners from across the world on contemporary issues in management and management research.

Prof Jos Lemmink (Maastricht University), Prof Narasimham Srinivasan (School of Business, University of Connecticut, USA), Prof Siva Muthaly (Graduate School of Business & Law, RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia), Prof Jayanth R Varma, Prof Neharika Vohra, Prof Arindam Banerjee, Prof Diptesh Ghosh and Industry Specialists shared their knowledge and experiences at the colloquium.

The 4th Doctoral Colloquium ends on 4th evening with valedictory session where the best papers are awarded.

Prof Errol DSouza, Prof Arindam Banerjee, Prof Bibek Banerjee, Prof Ankur Sarin and Jithesh Kumar K (student coordinator) are the members of this year’s organizing committee.
