IIM Kozhikode launches its annual management festival, Backwaters 2012 with an open B-plan contest, White Knight, open to all B-schools, working professionals and start-ups across the country
Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode- one of India’s premier B-Schools- has launched its annual Management festival Backwaters with its flagship Business Plan competition “White Knight”, and by inviting articles to the first edition of its semi-annual magazine ‘Mindscape’, covering contemporary issues in management verticals along with various other aspects of management education in B-schools of India. Backwaters, to be held this year from the 9th -11th of November has grown multi-fold over the past years and now resounds as a familiar name across both Industry and Academia. Backwaters 2011 was a roaring success with more than 3500 students from over 70 premier B-Schools of India participating in a whole gamut of events spanning all management verticals. The main events include White Knight (Business Plan), Avatar (Next Best CEO), Bizzathalon (Quiz) and The Great Debate.
White Knight aims at encouraging entrepreneurship by providing a platform for new ideas and innovations to thrive and become huge successes. The 2011 edition of White Knight saw unprecedented success in the form of more than 180 entries from over 50 premier B-schools and 20 start-ups from across the country with one of the teams getting the opportunity to present in the regional finals of TiE’s All Asia Business Plan competition, held in partnership with Rice University, USA.
White Knight 2012, launched on 18th September 2012, has scaled up the incentives by offering opportunities to participate in the Asia region finals of TiE’s International Business Plan Competition, 2013, participate in the inaugural edition of TiECon Kerala 2012 (a professional and networking conference by TiE Kerala) to be held in Cochin on 25th and 26th of October, win year-long mentorships worth US $6000 under 1M/1M initiative of Ms. Sramana Mitra, win prizes worth Rs. 1 lakh and get mentored by eminent VCs.
