As police remain clueless about the whereabouts of an Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) professor - Prathap Oburai, who went missing several weeks ago - the institute has assigned his responsibities to a new recruit. Oburai, a faculty member of the institute's marketing discipline, vanished under mysterious circumstances from the Devprayag area in Uttarakhand on the intervening night of June 30 and July 1.
Oburai's replacement is Dheeraj Sharma, who has earned a PhD from Louisiana Tech University. Sharma started teaching at IIM-A from August 8.
Dean (faculty) at IIM-A, professor Ajay Pandey said, "We were bound to conduct the sessions on time, and hence the sessions were handed over to the newly recruited faculty member." Pandey said that since the institute knows professor Oburai is missing, it was offsetting his absence under the cumulative leaves available to him.
