Mr. Jef Hofman is an accomplished
entrepreneur and innovator in the
felds of Internet, e-commerce, and
entertainment. Having launched his frst
sofware company while still a student at
Yale University, Mr. Hofman has founded
and grown a series of successful startup
companies in his career, guiding his
companies to both acquisitions and public oferings. For his eforts,
he received a Lifetime Achievement Award in Entrepreneurship from
the National CEO Council in 2010, and was also inducted into the
Hall of Fame for Entrepreneurs by the International Association of
College Entrepreneurs in 2010. He is currently a founder and partner
in ColorJar, a venture accelerator frm that helps entrepreneurs and
small business owners launch and grow new business ventures. In this
capacity, he works as a virtual CEO with startup companies all over the
world to help turn great ideas into proftable businesses. Mr. Hofman is
perhaps best known as a founder and CEO in the Priceline.com family
of companies, where he led the development and launch of Priceline’s
consumer company (Priceline YardSale). Hofman also served as an
executive in Walker Digital, the parent company of Priceline and one
of the country’s most innovative creators of intellectual property and
new business models. He is also a featured motivational speaker at
conferences across the globe.
Mr. Joseph Hadzima works in the areas of
entrepreneurship, start-up phase companies,
business plans, venture capital, corporate
governance, and intellectual property
strategy. He has been involved in the
founding of more than 100 companies as a
founder, investor, director, legal counsel, or
employee and has advised entrepreneurs,
high-growth businesses, and venture
capitalists. Mr. Hadzima is a founding judge
of the MIT $10K Entrepreneurship Competition (now the MIT $100K
Entrepreneurship Competition) and has taught the popular IAP
course “Nuts and Bolts of Business Plans” since 1989. He is a frequent
speaker for the MIT Enterprise Forum’s Satellite Broadcast Series
(SBS), including programs on company evaluation and structuring
venture capital deals. As Managing Director of Main Street Partners
LLC, a venture development and technology commercialization frm,
Mr. Hadzima is president of the portfolio company IPVision, Inc.,
an intellectual property management, systems and services frm. He
was a director of the Global MIT Enterprise Forum for over 25 years
and was its Chairman of the Board for four years. He practiced law
for 17 years, frst at Ropes & Gray in Boston and then at Sullivan &
Worcester as founder and director of the High-Tech/New Ventures
Group. He is a former director of the New England chapter of the
National Association of Corporate Directors and several private
and public companies. His “Starting Up” column appeared regularly
in the Boston Business Journal. Mr. Hadzima is a member of the
MIT Venture Mentoring Service and has advised federal and state
government agencies, universities and nonprofts on the creation and
support of entrepreneurial ecosystems to create economic growth. Mr.
Hadzima is the recipient of the MIT Bronze Beaver Award, the highest
MIT Alumni/ae award, for his work in Entrepreneurship. He was the
second recipient of the Adolf F. Monosson Prize for Entrepreneurship
Mentoring. Mr. Hadzima received a B.Sc. from MIT (1973), a S.M. in
Management from the MIT Sloan School of Management (1997) and a
Juris Doctore cum laude from the Harvard Law School (1979).

Ms. Cathleen A. Campbell, CRDF Global
President and Chief Executive Ofcer,
has over thirty years of experience in
international science and technology policy
and program management. She joined
CRDF Global in 2002 as Vice President for
Programs and became President and CEO
in April 2006. At CRDF Global she oversees
a $25 million annual budget, a worldwide staf of 150, and program
activity in over thirty countries. Ms. Campbell served from 1998 to
2002 as Director of the Ofce of International Policy and Programs
in the Technology Administration of the Department of Commerce,
where she oversaw technology initiatives with Israel, Egypt, Russia,
and multilateral groups such as the Organization for Economic
Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the Asia-Pacifc
Economic Cooperation (APEC). As a Senior Policy Analyst in the
White House Ofce of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) from
1995-1997, Ms. Campbell led U.S. government science and technology
cooperation initiatives with Russia, Ukraine, Latin America, and
China. Ms. Campbell was the U.S. Department of State’s Program
Ofcer for Soviet/Russian Science and Technology afairs, from 1989
to 1994. Ms. Campbell holds an M.A. in Russian and East European
Studies from the George Washington University and a B.S. in Russian
from Georgetown University.
Speaker Biographies
Mr. Mohamed Malouche leads the
Tunisian American Young Professionals,
a non-proft Diaspora association
aimed at increasing economic
cooperation between Tunisia and the
United States. He has been presenting
Tunisia’s economic value proposition
to investors in the US, and supporting
the development of an entrepreneurship culture in Tunisia through
mentorship, technical and fnancial support. Mr. Malouche has
provided economic counsel to important governmental actions
related to innovation and entrepreneurship. He is currently working
with Penn State University on a US-Tunisia partnership for the
promotion of technology innovation, with the International Youth
Foundation to enhance young Tunisian entrepreneurs’ sof skills,
and with the U.S. Department of State on an entrepreneurship
and investment conference to be held in Tunisia this summer. Mr.
Malouche founded PromoTunisia, a services company that ofers
archaeological trips to Tunisia for US travelers and promotes Tunisia
as an investment destination in the ICT sector. Mr. Malouche has
been an advisor to several US companies seeking to utilize Tunisia as
a platform for expansion to nearby markets. He also implemented, in
collaboration with the Rotary foundation, a fund whereby travelers
can contribute through donations to the development of schools in
the poorest regions of Tunisia. Additionally, Mr. Malouche is a Senior
Manager with Deloitte Consulting in the Telecom industry. His areas
of expertise include operations readiness and launch of innovative
services. Prior to joining Deloitte, Mr. Malouche was a Principal
with American Management Systems, with responsibilities in the
delivery of customer care solutions. Mr. Malouche holds a Masters in
Information Systems from Telecom Paris in France, and a Masters in
Telecommunications from Michigan State University.
Mr. Rachid Harrando is the President,
CEO and co-founder of NETpeas, a fast
growing Moroccan technology start-
up company ofering cutting edge IT
security tools for protecting Internet-
based businesses. Prior to his role at
NETpeas, Mr. Harrando worked for
13 years in the high technology feld,
frst as a hardware designer then as
senior customer program manager at Texas Instruments, including
fve years in the United States. Mr. Harrando has extensive experience
in the microelectronics and telecommunications felds. He has led
international and multidisciplinary teams that have collaborated on
projects including the prototype and launch of 3G phones and the frst
ultra-low-cost cell phones. Mr. Harrando returned to Morocco two
years ago to launch NETpeas, which he co-founded with his former
classmate Mr. Nabil Ouchn. Mr. Harrando graduated from the Ecole
spéciale de Mécanique et d’Electricité in Paris, France in 1998.
