- New Delhi, March 28, 2012: IAM organized a workshop on “Fashion Business & Education in Global Context” with the speakers from FIT, New York including Mr. Steven Frumkin, Dean of the Jay and Patty Baker School of Business & Technology, Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), New York and Dr. Georgianna Appignani, Director of International Programs, Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), New York recently.
- Dr. Darlie Koshy, DG & CEO, IAM & ATDC said, “We are extremely honoured to have stalwarts like Mr. Steven Frumkin and Dr. Georgianna Appignani amongst us, who have been instrumental in starting the Fashion Education in India during mid 1980’s. We are hopeful that their long drawn experience and insights would be of great benefit to the participating members and students of our institute in learning contemporary methods, techniques and practices used in fashion education globally. This workshop will surely benefit in bring new perspectives to faculty, trainers and members from industry and academia in Fashion and Textiles”.

- Ms. Georgianna Appignani, Director of International Programs, Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), New York said “While understanding Indian Fashion, I realized that it has a unique characteristic and plethora of rich heritage & culture, finest traditional fabrics, ageless design & textures, beauty &adornment which even west is now following and IAM has been doing a great job in fashion education”.

During the occasion, the Pro-Up Calendar for 2012 was announced with 13 - new workshops on various areas of Fashion Marketing, Merchandising, Production, Retail will be offered to the Industry professionals, students under IAM’s professional upgradation (Pro-Up) centre.

The students from Fashion & Lifestyle Design (FLD) of IAM presented a “Collection of Garments” during the workshop on theme “Back to Future” inspired from periodic costumes and accessories of India and world.
