1.1 Background / Overview of the study[/b]

Over the last decade, much research has been conducted in the field of human resource management (HRM) and its associations with firm’s performance. Prior studies have found substantial positive evidence for statistical associations between HRM practices and improved firm performance. As it is widely accepted that people in organizations are an important source of competitive advantage for firms so to manage people within the firm and to optimize them to achieve organizational goal, the HRM practices are very essential. In this report we are going to study the HRM practices performed by Computer Source Limited.
1.2 Scope of the study[/b]

In this report we choose “Computer Source Ltd.” and select the topic “HRM practices”. We have surveyed the organization and made questionnaire for top HR Managers and Operating Managers. The direct face to face conversation let us understand the HRM practices perfumed and their effects in the organization.
1.3 Methodology of study[/b]
This report has been prepared on the basis of experience gathered during the period of survey. For preparing this report, we have also gathered information from website of the Computer Source Ltd. We have presented our findings in the analysis part and suggestions in the recommendation part.
The details of the work plan are stated below:

Relevant data for this report has been collected primarily by direct contact with HR managers, Operating managers and Employees of the company. No structured questionnaire has been used. Information regarding HRM practices of Computer Source Ltd. has been collected through consulting and discussion with management personnel and Employees.

Both primary and secondary source of data are used to complete this study.

• Face to face conversation with the HR manager and employees.
• Conducting survey on Employees and Managers.

The primary objective of preparing this report is to represent the HRM practices in Computer Source Ltd.[/b] and to have a clear conception about all the covered materials in this course.

· A Brief overview of the company.
· To identify the problems or development requirements on HRM practices.
· To relate theoretical knowledge with practical experience.
1.5 Limitations of the study[/b]
There are many limitations in collecting data form management as well as employees. Within limited time and access it is always difficult to know the HR activities of a company like Computer Source Limited.
