We know most of the death in construction industries are of falling from heights. Companies are taking care of safety of workers by adopting many practices, but often health part of it is either neglected or not given same importance.

As the safety issues, health effects are not seen immediately because of this many construction workers including supervisors and engineers die of lung cancer and TB.

Its a high time to go for standards for construction safety and implement for all construction works. Need effective enforcement by government agency and close monitoring for all major and minor construction sites.

Even all construction companies and builders to own the responsibilities, to keep their sites free from injuries. Safety professionals and NGO's need to spread construction safety, hazards involved in work and facilities required. Government should take further initiative for developing awareness among illiterate labour force migrating from various un-organised sectors.

Are the practices adopted safe enough for the health of the industry work force ?

What more has to be done ?:SugarwareZ-031:

Yes, the workers involved in construction field are most uneducated they don't know what to do in safety measure, even subcontractors labour contractor also coming in uneducated stage,by experience they are doing work.

Companies giving safety hooks but that was not connected with the nearby safety points. When accident occurs they feel, but before that they lost their parts. so safety should strictly followed by contract firm. one safety officer is not enough for one site so many peoples should be posted in single site.
