According to the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act,1960,
A housing society is defined as, a society, the object of which to provide its members with open plots for housing ,dwelling house or flats; or if open plots, the dwelling houses or flats are already acquired to provide its members common amenities and services”
Co-operatives Contain Multiple Units OF Housing When a person acquires a home in a housing co-operatives a person does buy real estate
A person buys a share in that operative society
