Great Lakes team wins B-Plan contest at IIM –Indore

Sanjeevani, the Business Plan Competition organized by IIM Indore, in association with Seedfund, NEN and DARE, was held on Nov 7-8, 2008.

Competing in this four-stage competition, against with over 150 teams, the team from Great Lakes Institute of Management Chennai won the top honors.

Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai 's Team Progenie – Smita Arora, Rohit Menon & Arpit Baid , emerged as winners from more than 150 teams from various B Schools all across India. Team Progenie won the coveted top – cash prize of Rs. 80,000 and an opportunity to present their Business Plan to Seedfund, the sponsors at Mumbai, for a possible funding of up to Rs. 30 million.

The competition was held across 4 stages. It started with an executive summary and then moved on to the complete Business Plan. At the second stage, the 20 teams were each provided with a mentor – and experienced person from the industry. Team Progenie had Mr. Sandeep Manudhane as their mentor. Mr. Sandeep Manudhane is the Chief Mentor, PROTON Business School and CMD and founder of PT Education.

Five teams were invited to IIM Indore for the last two stages. Team Progenie from Great Lakes was competed with the other 4 teams - 2 from IIM Indore, and 1 each from ISB, Hyderabad and NITIE, Mumbai.

The Final stage was a boardroom discussion with Seedfund, NEN and DARE, who judged and declared Progenie team of Great Lakes Institute of Management as the winners.
