Google's Freemium Disruptive Business Model of Google Maps & Android threatens Giants

Re: Google's Freemium Disruptive Business Model of Google Maps & Android threatens Gi

Hello kartik,

What I come to know about google from you is very good. the article is also good. I'm just thing that the google is planning to launch a operating system and in google's history google never charge anything from their users, so if they give the google operating system for free then how can microsoft survive because operating system is a big market for microsoft.

Well google always work on simple newspaper strategy, always charge money from those who want to advertising their product or services and provide free service to the consumer.

Yes you are right, the google OS will be free but it will be as free as linux operating systems.

The world is used to windows for decades and fighting with the redmond giant isnt going to be an easy task. While google chrome, firefox etc are very popular names, their absolute market share as compared to microsoft is at insignificant levels.

Secondly, the Google operating system is going to be internet based and internet penetration in third world countries is very less. The big G has to tieup with hardware providers to push its operating system and then find out a way to beat the psychology prevailing for decades that if you pay for something then it has to be better than the free version in terms of absolute product and support.

I think their android and Maps technology is far more threatening to the giants than their operating system.
