GNIOT organized Blood Donation Camp at its Campus[/b]

- Rotary Club, organized Blood Donation Camp at Greater Noida Institute of Technology (GNIOT). 503 units of blood were donated by students among whom 55 were girls and other was boys. GNIOT, Director Mr. Rohit Garg and Director General, Mr. Alok Chauhan also donated blood for the noble cause, along with the other faculty and staff members. Camp was inaugurated by the Colleges Chairman, Mr. BL Gupta.

On this Occasion Mr. Rohit Garg, Director, GNIOT, while donating blood said that “The gift of blood is the noblest and the most precious of all gifts. It is the gift that saves human lives and is the most remarkable noble act of service to humanity. All healthy persons have a sacred duty to ensure that safe blood is available in adequate measures in all our hospitals on the Island”.

Dr. Ajay Kumar of Rotary Club Delhi said that "Blood donation is the greatest Social service. Donating blood is also good for one’s own health. A healthy person with 12 HB should donate blood after every 3 months ". He added that," repeated blood donation is effective in reducing blood pressure, blood glucose, HbA1c, low-density lipoprotein/high-density lipoprotein ratio, and heart rate in patients with metabolic syndrome. People having weight more than 45 kg can donate their blood".

First time donor, Ms. Payal Gupta, MBA final year student said that, "she is very glad to be the part of a noble cause. Earlier she had a myth that the donation leads to weakness.

The camp was conducted under the supervision of Medical Officer and the doctor's team of the Rotary Club Delhi. Over 30 volunteers were registered for the camp. The enthusiasm of the students, staffs and faculties were remarkable and was appreciated by Rotary Club Delhi. The donors were proud enough to have done a great deed for the society. The Donation Camp concluded with the great success thereby motivating the society about their responsibility. The college seeks to have such motivating activities in the mere future. The donators were given fruits and juices as their refreshment.
