The industry sales of geared scooters fell by 7%, Bajaj Auto’s sales fell by 34%.
The fact is that, barring some pockets in North India; there is no appetite for the traditional geared scooter.
The company plans to introduce two models with an entirely new approach to scooters at Auto Expo in January 2004.
