FOX a real news channel?

I doubt social media functions in a purely negative way. It really depends on its users.

Anyway, this was written about media in "Communist China" but it could easily apply to FOX News:
"Self-regulation by the news sites is simply self-censorship.
But the
strength of that censorship is weaker than it probably would be if the
authorities were controlling the reader involvement areas themselves,
because other motivations are coming into play. Web sites, especially
commercial ones, thirst for ever more readers, and they want to draw those
readers in with challenging online debate.
What's more, the humans that monitor and moderate these online areas are not
unfailing filter machines."

Among those faring the worst in the poll were CBS and ABC, which were not trusted by 46%.

That makes last week's declaration by White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer even more ironic: "We don't feel the obligation to treat [Fox] like we would treat a CNN, or an ABC, or an NBC, or a traditional news organization, but there are times when we believe it makes sense to communicate with them."
