Altius '12
New Delhi:[/b] At the crack of dawn on 24th of this February, Come, Compete and Revel[/b] summed up Altius’12, the Annual Inter B-School sports fest of FMS. The inauguration ceremony was held at the University Polo Grounds that was also the venue for the Athletics Events. No less than 8 track and 5 field events in athletics and the breathtaking infrastructure, originally meant for the CWG 2010 left the athletes in awe.
The first day of Altius’12 saw the launch of Table Tennis, Badminton and Football events. Participants were left spell bound by the international level facilities and amenities on offer at the Rugby Sevens Indoor Stadium, a TT and Badminton venue for 2010 Common Wealth games.
The second day begin with the launch of Cricket, Volleyball and Basketball games at the Ramjas College Grounds that eventually became the Centre stage of all the action. The 3-day sports extravaganza that envisaged active participation from sporting enthusiasts belonging to prominent Business Schools across the country namely IIM Lucknow, MDI Gurgaon, IIFT Delhi, DMS-IIT Delhi, IMT Ghaziabad and many more concluded on 26th February leaving the participants asking for more sporting action.
Altius’12 also marked its presence in the social networking media. Participants having a flair for sports writing were given an opportunity to showcase their talent through an online Sports Article Writing event that was conducted in association with Sportskeeda.com and impressive cash prizes were given to the winners.
Altius’12, which was truly the best inter B-School sports fest of the year in terms of the sheer quality of sporting infrastructure and the level of competition, was made a huge success by its sponsors IFI, Cleartrip, Indian Oil, Hindustantimes.com, Sportskeeda.com, Cosco, UST, Reebok and Mercury Himalayan Explorations.
Altius 2012 proved out to be much more than just sports. It embodied an experience, good competitive sportsmanship and an opportunity to showcase talent and skill in world class sporting infrastructure. It certainly gave the participants a lot more than just satisfaction to take to their homes and the viewers were left with memories of some of the best hard-fought action they had ever witnessed.
