MIND MAPPING???
Mind Maps to improve and enhance efficiency in reading. Well take a note of the below and zooooooooooooooom your reading speed...1st SESSION:Maneesh Johari: CEO of Buzan World Org in India on Mind Maps
He is the CEO of the only centre of the Buzen World Organization in India-at Pune. His mission is to help increase the efficiency & productivity of everyone who needs to use his/her brain- by training them in Mind Maps- which is the simplest way to feed information into the brain – in a ‘Brain-friendly’ manner.
On Mind Mapping as explained by Mr.Johari
-A mind map is a graphical way to represent ideas and concepts. It is a visual thinking tool that helps structuring information, helping you to better analyze, comprehend, synthesize, recall and generate new ideas.------Just as in every great idea, its power lies in its simplicity.
-In a mind map, as opposed to traditional note taking or a linear text, information is structured in a way that resembles much more closely how your brain actually works. Since it is an activity that is both analytical and artistic, it engages your brain in a much, much richer way, helping in all its cognitive functions. And, best of all, it is fun!
-An amazing trail software on mind map which will help you to think and work smarter, organize your work and ideas, present information with maximum impact, learn faster and improve your memory.

Well most of the MBA aspirants/ CAT applicants have a host of myths on entry to IIM. 2nd SESSION: Abhishek Thakore, IIM Bangalore Alumnus
!](http://http://www.careerlauncher.com/mba/success/img_success/070501.jpg)
Abhishek Thakore, 23 years Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore alumnus, Founder Blue Ribbon (Youth NGO),Columnist for JAM and Life Positive Magazine, Corporate Trainer and Consultant.... alleviated graduates perception on tickets to IIM’s as he busted all these myths in a 20 minutes session...
Abhishek says there are three easy steps to get into IIMB.....
1)Take a flight to Bangalore
2)An auto to 5 Cross, Bannerghatta road
3)and then inside the IIMB Campus
....was the mind-boggling statement made by Abhishek Thakore which helped slacken the IIM aspirants among the audience. Undoubtedly you will land there only as a visitor and not as a student, Abhishek then commented comically. The conviction in Abhishek’s eyes and the attitude that he carries swiftly connected with the audiences the moment he took the dais. He opened his session with an action-packed presentation. The first slide displayed picture of an iceberg, Abhishek skilfully compared the upper portion of the iceberg with the struggle that an aspirant puts in his preparation, while the portion dipped in the water is the mental vigour that the aspirant employs during his preparation phase. Abhishek drew attention on the fact that, it’s the mental capacity of the person which drives the game. An aspirants needs to direct his psychological gears well to successfully get into his dream Institute, if the lower portion starts melting(which is the mental strength) the higher portion of the iceberg(hard effort for preparation) will certainly sink.
An aspirant must meticulously work upon the reasons for writing CAT. It has to be a mindful decision and the student must stand by it... Abhishek indicated, that you must start listing down the reasons you want to take- up CAT and emerge with a very strong motive which gives you a clarification and helps setting goal to perform.
The Aspirant should concentrate and improve their areas of expertise in his preparation, slogging aimlessly by knowing ten thousand formulas by rote is not the way out. Instead develop ways to solve a problem using different techniques, if one doesn’t work, you must be witty enough to crack it using another. This aptitude is developed with a continuous practice and sheer dedication, hence Abhishek very considerately advised the aspirants to sacrifice their short-term pleasures and pastimes for the long-run success.
Also Abhishek repeatedly advocated the audience that it’s the Management of your Emotional Quotient that helps you to conquest the battle. However there are certain matters on which human being have no holds, so those should be ignored and left unto god. Give your Best and on God Leave the rest....Abhishek concluded very modestly.
The third eminent speaker was for all those who has aims to make BIG in life....
3rd SESSION: Bhavin Turakhia, CEO Directi
!](http://http://images.directi.com/images/Bhavin_Turakhia_Directi_CEO.jpg)
If you're a competitive person, that stays with you. You don't stop. You always look over your shoulder-
I think that’s an apt quote for a Cool-attitude, young flamboyant Entrepreneur-Bhavin Turakhia. Bhavin is a 29 year old and is the founder of Directi , a $300million company. He is responsible for the exponential growth of Directi from a startup in 1998(was 18then) to a global web products company with 6businesses, 20+ products, 500+ employees and millions of global customers. He also serves as a Tech advisor to the local CyberCrime Investigation Cell. He has won several awards, the Entrepreneur of the year award in 2005.
As he took on the dais, he had some incessant anecdotes and thoughts to share with the audiences. Bhavin started with sharing his experiences, when he had made up his mind to make BIG in the Web World.. Bhavin was only 18years old when he started his business... Bhavin stated ‘self help is the best help’ and in his case, it was self study and experiential learning that has been his constant career guide. A rendezvous with computer from standard five and routinely having hands-on experience during his lunch breaks, short breaks and staying back after school hours boosted his knowledge base with the systems. He was fortunate enough for the lenient attendance rules at Sydenham College as he attended college sparingly, and grabbed opportunities to familiarize himself with new computer programs-Bhavin remarked ironically.
In 1998, he borrowed Rs 25,000 from his father to buy their first Internet server. “We wanted to do something on the Internet related to Web services. Even though Internet penetration was just on the range of 20000-30000 and 14.4 KB was considered high speed at that point in time, we aimed to get a sizeable portion of the market, and quitting was never an option” stated Bhavin. He repaid the money within the first quarter and from then on, there was no looking back. In 2001-2002, they made massive sales of their websites and domain names in the NASSCOM conference.
He has made a startling success in a short-span and he takes no credit for this achievement For Bhavin it’s his team member’s efforts and their sheer dedication that has got Directi where it stands today. Bhavin was a booster to the young minds, as he ignited the Entrepreneurial spirits and evoked passion in the audience by sharing the Six Principles of his business with the audiences:
[
I]1) All the players in your team must know how to play the game(When all the employees understands the dynamics of business, they act as a management)
PURPORT: all the employees in the company must know the functions, processes and the business ploys to the best of their ability. Establishing team rules and custom help creates team spirits and reinforces the concept of good sportsmanship. These rules must promote the idea that everyone on the team is a part of efforts directed towards the team’s success, such as all players(employees) gives 100 % to improve their skills.2) All the players are aware of the final objective
PURPORT: The objective of the team should be unified towards the attainment of one final vision. The leader should share the big picture with his employees, for them to understand the goal of their position, it is imperative that a completely transparent operation is run.
3)Each season is broken into multiple games, each independent from the others.
PURPORT: the activities should be set in periodical cycles. Bhavin says develop clear guidelines to understand the opportunities and challenges well. Cross-Interactions amongst the teams are essential to understand what’s happening at every level and how every efforts can be unified towards the attainment of the organization’s objective.
4) Keep Scores: The Score(Performance) is always visible on a public scoreboard.
Purport: Put up the scores/achievements in the department. This encourages the employees and rejoices them every time they see it. One department or team should be aware of the accomplishment of the other. Every single employee at Directi has multiple screens on their desk, which tracks the movements at every single minute, and every single second. This enables them to keep a track of the performance.
5) Line of Sight:Each player link the actions to the outcome of a game.
5)Align Everyone’s Interests
To the victor
PURPORT:Bhavin indicated that you should learn your employees well, should know what motivates them and drives them. Having learnt this should try to align their interests with that of the organization. Everyone in the firm should live one objective...one goal, and only then its possible to achieve what the firm is aiming in the pressent and future term.
6) Celebrate your victories(Victory party)
PURPORT:Every victory, irrespective of being big or small should be celebrated. Your employees should feel and celebrate the thrill of every little exertion which has made difference to the organization...Bhavin wrapped up with this with a glow on his face.
We were hypnotized by these sessions...Hope you'll enjoy reading it and we promise to keep you updated with all such great events!!:SugarwareZ-297:
