Delhi based HCL Infosystems is the first Indian Company to enter the handheld gaming console market ealier. The move is to expand in hardware, ICT services integration and distribution business.
These handheld gaming consoles launched under the ME brand, will compete with market leaders like Sony's PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS. There are about 3000000 consoles made in India and it expected to grow upto 35%.
When HCL is into so much of developments then why will its competitors lag behind. HCL's closest competitor Sony, according to industry reports, too is developing a portable device that shares features of a handheld game machine, E-book reader and netbook computers. Sony has got strong plans to see itself in 3D gaming & upcoming motion controller
