Mahatma Gandhi University came into existence in the year 1983 on the 2nd of October and it is a public university located in the city of Kottayam in the Indian State of Kerala. The jurisdiction of the university is spread over the districts of Alappuzha, Idukki, Pathanamthita, Ernakulam and Kottayam in Kerala.

Mahatama Gandhi University has called for applications from eligible candidates for faculty positions to offer education under different subjects offered by the university. Some of the details regarding the advertisement notification issued by the university in this regard are given below:

Name of the positions: Faculty positions (Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor)

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 19, which is divided as 4 vacancies for the position of Professor, 5 for Associate Professor, 7 for assistant professor and 3 for assistant professor temporary leave vacancy.

Pay scale: Pay scales for the positions are:

• Professor: Rs. 37,400-67,000/- plus Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 10,000/-

• Associate Professor : Rs. 37,400-67,000/- plus Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 9,000/-

• Assistant Professor : Rs. 15,600-39,100/- plus Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 6,000/-

Eligibility Requirement:

Educational Qualification: The teaching positions are available in departments like department of communication & journalism, school of behavioral sciences, school of tourism studies, school of computer science, school of letters, School of Gandhian thought and developmental studies, school of environmental studies, school of chemical sciences, shool of pure & applied sciences, school of Indian legal thought and school of social sciences. Registration fee is Rs.1000 for the position of Professor, Rs.750 for the position of Associate Professor : Rs.750/- and Rs.300 for the position of Assistant Professor. Fee should be paid by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, Mahatma Gandhi University payable at the State Bank of Travancore M.G. University Campus Branch, Kottayam Kerala. Candidates belonging to SC/ST community are exempted from payment of Registration fee only for Assistant Professor vacancy.
