FACTORS INFLUENCING DEMANDS/PURCHASING OF HANDSETS

A consumer, making a purchase decision will be affected by the following three factors:

1. Personal .

2. Psychological .

3. Social .

Personal.

These factors were varing from person to person. Demographic Factors. Sex, Race, Age etc. played major role in buying handsets for individual use.

Young people in age group of 15-35yrs purchased handsets for different various reasons while older people in age group of 35-50yrs purchased handset just for communication purpose only.

Psychological.


There were many people who wanted to purchase handsets just because they had sense of love and belonging for handsets.This was found more among Nokia handsets user.

They also felt that if they used Nokia handsets it increased there status in society and also they considered using high end cellphones as matter of self-esteem and pride.

Social.

There were many people who bought handsets because of social factors like on there parents,friends and relatives opinion.There were few people who bought there handsets because those handsets were used by there faviourite film stars.

This was especially found among girls who bought there Motorola or Sony handsets just because there favorite stars Abhishek Bacchan and Hrithik Roshan were endorsing them.

Besides this to my surprise I found out that in todays world kids play major role in buying decisions for themselves and for there family also.
This also played a greater role in purchasing decision of handsets by individuals.

Kids who were in age group of 10-18yrs were more interested in following factors and features as compared to other factors described above.As to my surprise I also saw that kids were less brand conscious as compared to elders.
